The most commonly used envelope papers are:

  • Correspondence Envelopes

    Envelopes without windows are generally used to mail documents printed on your company’s letterhead paper.

    These envelopes can often be made with the same fine paper as your letterhead.

    The most popular envelope formats are:

    ·  No. 9:   9" x 4"
    ·  No. 8:   6 1/2" x 3 5/8"


  • Catalogue Envelopes

    The "brochure" and "catalogue" envelope categories are differentiated by the direction of their opening.

    ·  "Brochure" envelopes open on the side.

    ·  "Catalogue" envelopes open at the end.

    Windowless brochure and catalogue envelopes

    The most popular formats are:

            - No. 2:   9" x 5 7/8"
            - No. 7:   9" x 12"
            - No. 8:   10" x 13"

    Window brochure

    These envelope formats are available:

  • Window Envelopes

    Window envelopes are used to mail invoices, account statements, cheques, etc.

    These envelopes are usually made with 24lb vellum paper.

    If you want a more opaque window envelope, almost all the products in this category are available with a "Protecto grey" interior.

    The standard window dimension is 4 1/2" x 1 1/8". Other formats are available.

    No. EH7014R Two Window Envelopes

    Formplus commercialises a No.9 two window envelope with a "Protecto grey" interior.

    If your business operates under several names, this solution will be of interest to you since it makes it possible to show your business name in the top window and that of your correspondent in the bottom window.

    Why pay to print an envelope when the printed document it contains is already identified in your image with your address? You will only need one inventory of window envelopes.



  • Mailing

    Addressing Guidelines

    For all the information pertinent to addressing your documents, we encourage you to consult the Addressing Guidelines published by Canada Post in PDF format.

     

    Postage

            -The maximum format for letter mailing is 9 5/8" x 5 7/8".

            -The envelope must not be thicker than .196".

    Permit

    If you have frequent mass mailings, you can obtain a commercial account with Canada Post; it will give you a permit number.

    If you use one of the following permits, Canada Post will directly bill you.

    Certain terms apply. Please speak with Canada Post or your mailing supplier.

    It is possible to levy a permit and print the following labels on your mailing envelopes.

    The most commonly used permit types are:

            - Letter mailFor all first class mailings.

            - Mediapost with addressFor sales campaigns by mail whereby there is an
                                                         order slip in the mailing.

            - Business correspondenceYou can also use this permit if you want to
                                                              provide postage-paid return envelopes.

    Canada Post will supply you with the Adobe Acrobat file containing the information to reproduce on the envelope.
